Capacity comes before promotion

A client target needs to fit the hours, return mix, review time, due-diligence work, missing-document follow-up, extensions, administrative work, and surge reserve available in the practice. Start with a conservative capacity number. Recheck it before adding appointments or spending more on acquisition.

A capacity estimate is a planning tool, not a promise of return volume or income. Record the assumptions and reduce the target when the work proves more complex than expected.

Work one plan for four weeks

Week one is for the offer and the client journey. Week two is for conversations and partner outreach. Week three is for publishing the useful page or checklist and following up with qualified inquiries. Week four is for reviewing the numbers, client questions, process failures, and capacity before choosing the next month's work.

  • Keep one weekly target for each chosen channel.
  • Count qualified inquiries, accepted engagements, completed work, collected fees, refunds, hours, and direct costs.
  • Write down objections and questions in the client's words.
  • Stop a tactic that creates poor-fit work, consent problems, or more support than the price covers.

Use the rebuilt practice resources

Seven focused workbooks are available now through the Free Tax School resource library. The private Bootcamp includes a completed 13-workbook Practice Launch Kit. Enrollment remains closed pending checkout, a scalable non-California eligibility control, and a full new-learner run on desktop and mobile. Unapproved engagement-letter and written information security plan materials are held out for qualified review and are not part of customer fulfillment.

If you are still deciding whether tax preparation fits your life, take the separate Become a Tax Preparer in 5 Days course before choosing a paid program.
